What is AcroYoga?

What exactly is AcroYoga? It’s a partnered practice that combines three modalities; Yoga, Acrobatics and Thai Massage. When most people first see Acro they think “wow, you must need a lot of strength to be able to do that” or “Acro is advance yoga”. In reality most students find it easier then it looks with the help of using the proper technique called “bone stacking”. Shh don’t let anyone know the secret! Besides making you feel superhuman, Acro helps improve communication, build trust and cultivates community. So whether your goals are to get stronger and build flexibility, have a date night with your partner or join the circus, AcroRoots has the best teachers to get you started!

Cat Hamilton

Acro at Home

Cat grew up in the San Fernando Valley and was involved in a lot of athletics growing up, but the high impact of traditional sports left her with recurring tendonitis that made even walking for extended periods of time a painful challenge without the help of supportive braces. When Cat was in college, she learned about a procedure that could help her walk without the braces, and following the surgery she decided to start practicing yoga to improve her balance, mental health and mobility during her recovery. She wanted to share with others what she had found in Yoga through teaching.

When completing her 200 HR teacher training in Vinyasa Yoga in 2013, one of the teacher trainers introduced her to AcroYoga and she fell in love all over again.

She completed her AcroYoga International teacher training in Rio De Janeiro in the Summer of 2018, and since then, Cat has taught classes and workshops all over the world, across 4 different continents, all while working full time in Post Production for reality and documentary TV. She loves L-basing and basing standing acrobatics, but you can catch her flying sometimes too!

When she’s not helping make broadcast television, she’s available for private instruction in AcroYoga.

Adam Weisman

Learn AcroYoga

If you don't know who I am, that's ok. Neither do I. My name is Adam Weisman, and I've been teaching Acroyoga and acro related things for 9 years in and around Los Angeles. I have a strong passion for helping show people how to move. I love the way that Acroyoga can make you feel like a kid again. Acroyoga can have some complicated movements, so I try and break hose pieces into smaller, more digestible parts. My goal is to show everyone that they can all do amazing things, even if they think they can’t. They just have to try

Located in Culver City Los Angeles, CA
